Day 1: Vientiane – Arrival – City Tour
Upon arrival in Vientiane your guide will meet you and transfer by private air condition vehicle to your chosen hotel and check in. Later your guide will meet you for a City Tour to visit That Luang stupa which is a symbol of Laos, followed by a visit to Vat Sisakat Temple. The final stop of the day is Thongkhankham Market where you can experience this local market selling vegetables, meat and fish and take part in local way of life.
The evening is free for you to spend at your leisure where you may wish to explore the local night market on the bank of the Mekong River.
Day 2: Vientiane – Patuxay Monument & Buddha Park
Today, transfer for private air-conditioned vehicle to Patuxay (the Victory Gate Monument) which was given by the French to Lao Government when we had the first independence in 1946 AD. Resembling the famous Arc De Triumph in Paris this is now the landmark of Vientiane.
Later is an opportunity to visit the morning market and Vientiane’s indoor shopping mall where you may wish to purchase souvenirs.
After lunch in Vientiane (not included) we will drive out of the city to the Buddha Park which was built in 1958 AD by Luang Pu Bounleua Sulilat a monk who studied both Hinduism and Buddhism religions.
Transfer back to Vientiane and check in to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore Vientiane at leisure.
Day 3: Vientiane Train to Vang Vieng
After breakfast, transfer to the train station to take high speed train to Vang Vieng 1 hour
Upon arrival, transfer to visit the cave of Tham Jang, which was used in the early 19th century in defense against the Chinese invaders.
Afternoon: We will take a bicycle or scooter and explore the picturesque countryside surrounding Vang Vieng. Visit local villages like Ban Pha Thao and Ban Na Kham, where you can witness traditional Lao life and interact with the friendly locals.
Local tip: Be respectful when visiting local villages, and consider bringing small gifts like pencils or notebooks for the children.
Optional: Hot air Balloon over Vang Vieng 115$ /person (25-40 minutes fly on sky)
Day 4: Vang Vieng Buggy Car Tour
Start at 9:00Am - 5:00Pm, about 40Km
Visit to Blue lagoon 1 Blue lagoon 2, Blue lagoon 3, 5 Hmong village, water fall and Phoukham cave.
After the pickup from your hotel at 9:00AM, we drive to our parking lot where you first try to drive the vehicles to get comfortable with them. Then we start to drive to Hmong village or one of the Minority tribes of Laos. Your English-speaking guide will explain the tribes, culture and how they differ from other tribe in Laos. We continue to drive to the mountain to visit a waterfall. Here you can enjoy your time and you will be able to swim in clear waters of the fall. After picnic lunch at waterfall, we continue to drive around mountain pass local village to visit blue lagoon 1 for Zip-line, Swim and Jumping. Continue drive buggy to Blue lagoon3 & 4. At the local village you'll be able to see the Lao women weaving silk and cotton fabrics. From these villages you drive further around the mountains, through the beautiful countryside and among the rice paddies. This provides you with another opportunity to take some fantastic photos. We continue to an amazing cave with stalactite and stalagmite. After that we trek up to top of mountain at Pha Namxay to see the views over Vang Vieng. Finally we complete the tour by finishing buggy around the mountain and return to Vang Vieng. Overnight in Vang Vieng.
Day 5: Vang Vieng – Cycling and Kayaking
Bike riding, Market, Caves, Tubing, Swimming, Kayaking, Rope swing
We begin our tour at 9:00am, by cycling to the local fresh markets, local produce and handicrafts.
We then cycle to the Hmong village to visit the local native people, and observe their customs, craft skills and culture. Then on to the limestone caves, where you can swim in the refreshingly cool clear waters and explore the cave on tubes with a torch for the adventurous
After this a barbecue lunch and fresh fruits is served on the banks of the river, with a majestic mountain backdrop and tropical forests. Our next stop is the Elephant cave, with its unusual shaped stones, and many different sized Buddha statues, that date back many centuries
After your English speaking guide has given you some basic instructions, for your safety, we will go Kayaking down the river through the winding rapids only small and great fund.
We then continue Kayaking on down the river, until we reach the Vang Vieng town
Day 6: Vang Vieng Train to Luang Prabang
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and visit the local market.
Then, we take the fast train to the former Royal capital, Luang Prabang. It takes around 1 hour to arrive. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel for check in.
After that, take the city tour to visit the former Royal Palace which has been turned into a National Museum. This interesting structure displays a lovely collection of the artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture dating from the days of the early kings right through the last sovereign. Wat Xiengthong. We also have enough time this day to explore some other landmarks, including the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun, the shrine of Wat Aham, the city's oldest temple of Wat Sene and the Wat Mai with five tiered roofs. A visit to Luang Prabang would be not complete without climbing 329 steps to the top of Phousi Hill for a beautiful sunset view of the Mekong River. The zigzag path crosses over various temples to the sacred, gilded stupa of Wat Phou, another World Heritage Site, recognized by UNESCO in 2002si at the summit. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 7: Luang Prabang - Alms giving – Buffalo Dairy Farm & Kuang Si Waterfall
Luang Prabang is the perfect place to see one of the most sacred Lao traditions, the Buddhist Alms Giving Ceremony. Rise early to witness the procession of monks. You will have the opportunity to take part in this tradition by offering sticky rice to the monks as they collect their one meal of the day.
After breakfast, we will continue by private air conditioned vehicle to the Laos Buffalo Dairy is a social enterprise consisting of a commercial dairy and production facility which makes dairy products for local and overseas customers. Visit the interactive mini farm and training centre within the dairy to learn about the dairy process and how through this social enterprise it supports local people from villages in and around Luang Prabang by renting their buffalo, which provides the families with a regular income stream from an under-utilized resource, namely female buffalo.
Departing the Laos Buffalo Dairy a 15 minute drive takes you to the stunning Kuang Si Waterfall. Take a leisurely hike through the national park towards Kuang- Si Waterfall and pass by the Asian Bear Rescue Centre. Enjoy feeling the mist of the cool, turquoise waters of the different waterfalls. Hike to the top of the main waterfall from where you can enjoy the panoramic views. Return to the pools at the bottom of the falls where you can enjoy a refreshing swim should you wish. Transfer back to Luang Prabang by private sir conditioned vehicle.
Day 8: Luang Prabang – Elephant Camp
Full Day Elephant Experience with Trekking & Bathing (FDE)
The true nature lovers! Get it all with this diverse and action packed tour which provides the opportunity to be a mahout, jungle trekking on foot to local villages and a traditional Lao long boat ride. Even your lunch will be an adventure as you picnic in the forest surroundings. You are sure to be delighted (and exhausted) after this adventure!
• 8:00 am – 8:30 am: Pick up by our English-speaking guide from your hotel lobby within Luang Prabang, Laos
• Arrive at the Elephant Village Camp: Welcome greeting by your guide and participate in a short briefing about Lao elephants and our special herd
• Elephant Feeding: Get up close and personal with elephants
• Explore Elephant Village: Visit our elephant hospital, museum, gallery and dung paper making facility!
• Learn to communicate: Enjoy the impressive experience of being a Mahout and how they communicate.
• Bathe Your Elephant: Bathe the elephants in the Nam Khan river for an exhilarating bathing experience!
• Trail of Falls Trek: Enjoy a 2 km trek on foot through the diverse jungle landscape of our exclusive Trail of Falls
• Lunch: Dine in the forest surroundings with our freshly prepared picnic box lunch from our camp restaurant (vegetarian options available)
• Continue the Trail of Falls: Enjoy another 1 km trek on foot along our exclusive Trail of Falls leading up to Tad Sae Waterfall where you can relax or swim in its cool natural pools (water levels vary with seasonal conditions)
• Boat trip back to camp: Traverse the Nam Khan River in a traditional Lao long boat from the waterfall back to our Elephant Camp. You just might see traditional fishing methods and other various ways with which the local villagers make use of and enjoy the river.
• 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm Depart: Transfer back to your Hotel in Luang Prabang between 3 and 4:00 pm
Day 9: Luang Prabang – Pak Ou Cave
After breakfast at hotel, after that, we embark on the leisurely cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside, before reaching the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, a 16th century cave monastery filled with thousands of Buddha images, which locates 25 Kilometers North of Luang Prabang in the limestone cliffs overlooking the Mekong river. En route, you will stop at Ban Muang Keo, a well-known village for its traditional Lao rice whisky distilling. You will arrive back in Luang Prabang and continue to visit the Traditional Art and Ethnology Center (closed on Monday) to learn about Laos’ many ethnic cultures. After tour, you come back to hotel and enjoy your free time.
Day 10: Luang Prabang – flight out
The day is at your leisure to have opportunity to explore more of the great city of Luang Prabang and transferring to the airport to depart to your next destination.
