Need a Permission for visit (before travel to Myanmar)
Permission from local authorities is required to visit certain areas because Military checkpoints on road are common.
Covid -19 Travel Requirements
- If the visitors are fully vaccinated, at least 14 days before arrival to Myanmar, they do not have to do PCR tests or quarantine. (Tourist must have a printed Covid-19 Vaccination certificate original in English version)
- Children under the age of 6 years travelling with fully vaccinated parents of guardians do no need a vaccination certificate.
- If the visitors are not fully vaccinated, they must have laboratory evidence of Covid-19 negative result (RT-PCR) issued within 72 hours before arrival to Myanmar.
Online eVisa
Currently, passengers with eVisa are only permitted to enter via following ports:
- Yangon International Airport
- Mandalay International Airport

Countries, Visa exemption for Tourist visit
Effective from 01 September 2022, ordinary passport holders from the following countries do not require a visa for tourist visits of up to 14 days if entering and departing from Yangon, Mandalay International Airports. Safety
- Travellers must stay in registered hotels or guest houses and carry your passport. Officials may ask to see it.
- Remain aware of the security environment at all times.
- Avoid all public gatherings, protests and areas of known and possible unrest.
- Violence, including explosions and attacks, can occur anywhere and anytime, the main targets have been government infrastructure, police and military vehicles, and security and administrative personnel.
- Monitor the media and keep in close contact with friends, family and also carefully assess the security situation, including curfews and travel restrictions.
- A curfew is in place from 12 am to 4am in the Yangon region. Curfew timings may differ in other regions and many change at short notice.
- There are disruptions to basic services, including electricity power, ATM banking, phone and internet communications and public health. Have arrangements in place for your essential needs. Services such as transport, travel and fuel may be affected.
- Be careful when taking photos. It’s illegal to photograph military personnel or sites.
Local Laws
- Don’t use or carry illegal drugs. Punishments include the death penalty.
- Drinking alcohol in public places is illegal.
- Myanmar has strict communications laws, including laws being considered to prohibit the use of VPNs. Financial or Criminal penalties may apply.
- Don’t post negative comments about individuals or Myanmar on social media.
- Myanmar has strict religious laws. It’s illegal to take religious materials in or out of the country without approval.
- Customs rules are restrictive. Seek prior permission to import drones or radio equipment. Drones have been seized by customs officials and tourists have been arrested for operating drones. There are also strict rules about exporting gems, antiques and images of Buddha. Check items are legal before you buy them.

About our country
Republic of Union of Myanmar is a sovereign state in South East Asia bordered by Laos, Thailand, China, Bangladesh, and India. It has a population of over sixty million and the second largest country in South East Asia.Myanmar has recently emerge as one of the top travel destination of South East Asia and one of the reasons is being bless with natural beautiessuch asbeaches, mangrove swamps, plains, rainforests and snow-peaked mountains. Also, thelegacy of mighty Burma, Phyu, Mon and Rakhinekingdoms had left Myanmar with archeological wonders such as temples, pagodas, palaces andmonasteries which areperfect for experiencing the splendor of the ancient times.However, the reason that makes Myanmar unique is the genuine people and diverse multi-racial culture, stem from well over one hundred ethnic groups.
Domestic flight information
The usual type of aircraft that is used in our domestic flights is the ATR-72 class which is smaller than its counterpart from the international flights. Therefore, the usually baggage allowance is 20 kg per person with 7 kg hand-carry. However, should you choose budget airlines, the baggage allowance is 20 kg per person with 10 kg hand-carry but meals will not be included and the tickets are non-refundable. Please remember these facts when making preparations for your trip to Myanmar.
Weather
Myanmar weather can be categorized into three seasons:
- The Dry and Hot Season: Lasted from February to May, this is the hottest time of the year with temperature can be up to 35*C.
- The monsoon season: Lasted from Jun to September, this is usually the time when most tropical storms hit the region with the annual rain fall between 2500 mm and 5000 mm. Advise against travelling in this time period since most places are closed, beaches for example, due to adverse weather conditions.
- The Dry and Cool Season: Lasted from October to January, the most pleasant time of the year and strongly recommended for making visits to the country.
Currency
Myanmar currency is called Kyat and the exchange rate is approximately around 20,00 Kyats for 1 USD. Most established places like hotels accept both USD and Myanmar Kyats. However, please note that the dollar bill has to be in mint condition without any creases or tears. Recently, some hotels and restaurants started to accept Visa and MasterCard. We would like to advise the visitors to carry a small amount of Myanmar Kyats for miscellaneous usages. Also, we now have a number of ATM machines in major cities.
Travelling clothes and accessories
- Wide brim hats for maximum protection from the sun
- Light clothing: loose fitting, thin layer clothes that cover the maximum area of the body
- Footwear: flip-flops or sandal with no socks
- Apply sunscreen to the expose area such as face and neck to prevent sunburns
- Purified water bottle and towel
Medical Conditions
Although the number of available medicines has been steadily increasing, some special medicines might not be available in the local pharmaceutical stores. Therefore, we would like to advise the visitors to make inquires about specific medicine in advance and carry sufficient supply for the duration of the trip.We strongly advise that elderly, young children and people with complicated medical conditions should consult with a qualified physician before making the trip. Medicines for minor aches, pains and common cold can be purchased locally but brand namesmay be different please use discretion.
Food and Drinks
Upscale restaurants and Hotels serve verities of Myanmar, Chinese, Thai and European cuisines suitable for tourists and please informed in advance for any specialized meals following strict religion, personal or medical guidelines. However, should you wishes to taste the authentic local dishes from footstalls and other local restaurants, please consult with the guide and use discretion. Please use purified water bottle for your water intake since drinking from tap water is not recommended. Please note that authentic local dishes are very spicy and can cause stomach problems if you are not accustom to it.
IT in Myanmar
Free Wi-Fi is now available in most restaurants, hotels and many public areas although the speed is slow. Most SIM card from abroad do not work in Myanmar however for large group tours, we will provide one SIM card with handset for the duration of the trip as a special service for our guests. In most major cities, a number of internet cafés are open for business but the speed is again slow. Sale and service center for PCs, laptops and mobile phones are available in major cities but please make inquire in advance for specific products. Satellite TV is available in most hotels, restaurants and bars.
Methods of Transportation
Please use discretion should you wishes to use public transportations since lack of language skill can lead to misunderstandings. Taxis are recommended for most situations. For intercity travel, for example between Yangon and Mandalay, the best way is by air since it is the fastest and most convenient method. However, comfortable air-conditioned buses are available for land travel as well as ships for some selected cities. Our company can make reservations for air and bus tickets as well as providing medium and large tour buses, vans and sedans for sightseeing.
Religions
There are five major religions in Myanmar: Buddhist, Christian, Muslim and Hindu. In addition, Nat (Spirits) worship is still practice throughout the country. Buddhist is the dominant religion but there are a number of Cathedrals, Churches, Mosques, Hindu and Chinese temples spread throughout Yangon and held regular services. Please make inquires in advance if you wish to attend.
Ethnic Groups
Myanmar has eight (8) major ethnic groups: Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Burma, Mon, Rakhine and Shan and each group has from five to thirty sub-groups. Together over one hundred ethnic groups with different culture, traditions and languages made up the entire population spread over six regions: the north, south, east, west, middle and delta regions. The seven states and seven divisions of the country are formed across these regions.
Crimes and Scams
Myanmar is one of the safest cities in the region and crimes against tourists are a rarity. However, unless it is part of our tour program, please use caution while travelling at night or questionable locations and consult with the guide or the hotel before making any large transactions with locals.
